Tim Michetti is the head of regional operations at Conflict Armament Research (CAR), a private organization that conducts on-the-ground investigations into the illicit transfer of weapons into conflict-affected countries. Mr. Michetti oversees operations throughout the Gulf and Red Sea region, regularly documenting weapons in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Yemen. Over the past three years, he has worked in many of the world’s conflicts, including Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, South Sudan, and Syria, among others. Before joining CAR, Mr. Michetti worked as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, studied Arabic in Jordan, and received his MA in international policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He currently lives in Washington, DC.
